Multiple reports now has confirmed that Liverpool and Arsenal have reached a deal for the transfer of Chamberlain.
While the fee offered by Chelsea yesterday was £40m, it is not clear how much this latest agreement is worth from any of the sources reporting the news.
Chamberlain will now be allowed to negotiate personal terms and go for medicals.
It has now been reported in a tweet by Kaveh Solhekol of SkySports that Chamberlain will earn £125K per week at Liverpool.
The price Liverpool is paying for Chamberlain is £40m
Manchester City is still very keen to buy him, despite Arsenal turning £50m down yesterday.
There was also the discussion of including Raheem Sterling in the deal initially, with reported confusion over valuation and the fact that Pep Guardiola is not willing to sell Sterling.
There was a brief discussion earlier today about including Sergio Aguero in the deal. Aguero is reported to be unsettled because of City’s open advances at Sanchez. This have also been excluded which means, if Sanchez eventually move, this will be solely on cash only basis with no player coming the other way as part of the deal.
The lastest reports now has it that city is willing to up their bid to £70m
Arsenal is not currently pursuing Riyad Mahrez at least not openly. If Arsenal is attempting any deal here, then it is covertly and that is almost impossible 36 hours to end of the window. However, former Arsenal Midfielder Emmanuel Petit has this to say about Riyad Mahrez in an attempt to encourage Arsenal to go for Mahrez.
He knows the Premier League by heart, and has an incredible impact in it,’
He’s the kind of player sorely lacking for Arsenal down the right.
Petit also said Arsenal have a lot of players that run quickly but only on straight line and so for someone with the ability of Mahrez would be an upgrade to the current players we have now.
OZIL FOR TURAN?
Arsenal was reported to be interested in Barcelona star Turkish Ader Turan who is surplus at Barca but valued at £23m. There was also reports of Barca enquiring about Ozil but these discussion does not seem to have wings and so does not look like Arsenal will have him and it certainly look like Ozil will remain at Arsenal beyond thursday transfer deadline date.
Turan in fact is in negotiation with Monaco for a possible switch.
MUSTAFI AND JONNY EVANS
There is stalemate on the Mustafi and Jonny Evans negotiation.
West Brom is reluctant to let Evans move but will sanction a sale if a replacement can be found, despite the signing of Gibbs, the Jonny Evans speculation as at this time remains that, “a speculation”.
As a consequence, it is looking like Mustafi will be staying back at Arsenal.
