Alexis Sanchez dropped an Instagram message following Chile’s one nil defeat in the hand of Bolivia which leaves his country desperately adrift of qualifying places.
The message reveals the Arsenal striker is under pressure particularly because of the sense of responsibilities he feels towards his nation. He definitely feels the criticisms in the hand of journalists and “bad” people are unhelpful and weighing down.
“And there comes the time when you get tired. You get tired of being criticized with reason and no reason, you get tired of wanting to see you defeated, you get tired of telling yourself “once again i’m getting up” after crying after a loss, and you get tired of telling the world and the people who are with you, that everything is fine. And the worse, never anyone realize how that makes you feel… I have the 7 of Chile and it’s a huge responsibility, so i feel sorry for journalists and bad people to criticize without knowing” Alexis Sanchez
The top four finishers in the South America table qualify for next year’s final automatically, while the fifth place team faces a two-leg playoff against New Zealand, as it stands, Chile is behind Argentina by a point, although the “La Albiceleste ” themselves are struggling despite fielding a strong side that includes Lionel Messi, they had to rely on a second half own goal equaliser to maintain the 5th position and a chance to clinch the playoff spot.
