TOP 16 UNIVERSITIES IN AFRICA AND THEIR PLACES IN THE WORLD RANKING
Sixteen African Universities made it on to the list of the latest Times Higher Education (THE) University ranking.
South African Universities dominates the list with five, four of those occupied the 1st to fourth position on the list.
There four Universities from Egypt, two from Morocco and one each from Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya and Tunisia.

The highest ranking University in Africa is ranked 171 in the world with a respectable 54.4% overall score, 36.2% in research, 87% in citation, 88.1% in industry income and 81.1% in international outlook.
Although University of Cape Town was ranked 148 last year, thus dropping 23 places but still manage to rank higher than some European and American Universities like Newcastle University, University of Liverpool, and University of Miami.
