Arsenal latest updates in the papers and on the internet as of today 8th October.
AC MILAN AGUERO’S MOVE WILL IMPACT ARSENAL:
AC Milan is targeting SERGIO AGUERO in January and will swoop in with a £80m bid.
This will increase Man City interest in Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez who they failed to land in a £60m bid in the summer but are hoping for a cut-price deal in January on the ground that he would have only 6 months left.
Sanchez is reportedly keen to remain in England which gives Man City a big advantage over PSG.
PSG was hoping to move in for Sanchez at the end of the season as the 3rd man in their front trio to replace Edison Cavani, with Man City facing the prospect of losing Sergio Aguero in January, PSG will have little option than to enter a bidding war with City in January.
Whether or not Arsenal will sell remains to be seen, Wenger held on to him in the summer but the player insisting on a move and cutting an isolated figure in the team means the club will have little option than to sell.
WENGER EYEING ANTHONY MARTIAL:
Arsenal’s hunt for Sanchez long-term replacement is in full gear.
Wenger was all over Monaco’s Thomas Lemar throughout the summer, an adventure that started with a £40m bid but reached an astonishing £92m on the last day of the window which ultimately resulted in a failed attempt.
Lemar’ pursuit was meant to be an addition to the team initially, but quickly turn to be a target to replace Sanchez, when all failed, Wenger slammed the door on Sanchez proposed Man City move, it is now very clear though that the door cannot remain shut for too long.
Arsenal has now turned 360 degrees from Monaco to Manchester in search of Sanchez replacement, and the player that Wenger is targetting this time is Manchester United’s, ANTHONY MARTIAL
Anthony Martial’s purchase by the then Manager Louis Van Gaal raised a lot of eyes brow at £52m for a teenager, while his career started relatively well with some good performances and goals, he has seen his place limited under new manager Jose Mourinho and a competition from homeboy Marcus Rashford.
Anthony Martial’s current circumstance at Manchester is giving Wenger an air of optimism that his fellow French man will be open to a move to the Emirate.
ARSENAL CONSIDERING EVERTON’S ADEMOLA LOOKMAN:
Report this morning that Arsenal is considering a move for former Charlton academy youngster ADEMOLA LOOKMAN
Ademola Lookman Everton career this season has stalled and the player is looking to move back to London.
Theo Walcott is up for a January transfer, which will deplete Arsenal’s contingents of English players following the transfer of Kieran Gibbs to West Brom and Oxlade Chamberlain to Liverpool.
Seeing that he is not in boss Ronald Koeman’s plan, a deal in the region of £15m is rumoured to be enough to sign him or a possible player swap involving Olivier Giroud who Everton desperately wants to sign in the summer.
WENGER RESPONDS TO ANCELOTTI RUMOUR:
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has responded to the rumour in Italy that Ancelotti is interested in the Arsenal’s Job.
Wenger reportedly told BeIN Sports that he has no say in who replaces him at Arsenal but did not deny or acknowledge the Ancelotti’s claim either.
‘My job is to prepare the team for the next game and be responsible for the technical policy of Arsenal Football Club. ‘The job of my board is to choose the next manager – I don’t want to do the job of my board” Arsene Wenger
