Nacho Monreal nominated for Premier League October Player of the Month Award alongside Brighton’s Glen Murray, Manchester City duo of Kevin DeBruyne and Leroy Sane, Crystal Palace Wilfried Zaha and Burnley Goalkeeper Nick Pope.
He won the Arsenal player of the month of September and followed that up with an emphatic October performance where he scored twice, created 5 chances and completed 92% of his passes.
Leroy Sane had a fantastic month scoring 3 goals, assisted 3, created 6 chances and completed 80% of his passes.
Sane’s teammate Kevin Debruyne completed 90% of his passes, assisted 3 goals and created 6 chances for his team in October.
Other nominees in this award are Glen Murray who is on the shortlist on the back of the 3 goals scored, he created no chances nor assisted while completing just 54% of his passes, and Wilfried Zaha who also completed 54% of his passes, scored 2 goals but created 2 goalscoring chances for his team. The last nominee Nick Pope, the Burnley goalkeeper had a very good October outing with 2 clean sheets and 21 saves and even created one goalscoring opportunity for his team.
On the strength of these criteria, it is really between Monreal, Sane and Debruyne, with Sane just edging his teammate and the Arsenal defender, however, the winner is selected based on the number of votes received by each player from Fans.
Previous winners are Harry Kane in September and Sadio Mane in August.
