January transfer window is upon us, well almost, and Arsenal contract rebels are inevitably going to be the focus of media speculations both leading up and during the winter window.
Alexis Sanchez is a player though that never leaves the headline since it emerged he was running down his contract and not willing to sign a new one, many clubs have been linked to the Chilean, among them is Bayern Munich and their President has been talking about the Arsenal winger over the weekend.
Bayern president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge hinted that Sanchez only has his heart set on playing for one club, this is according to METRO
METRO quoted the Bayern Chief from SKY Germany interview where he also said
“I think Sanchez has already decided which club [to join], so I suppose that the door will be closed in January,
That’s not an issue, and he is no direct substitute for Robert Lewandowski as he is not a real centre-forward”
On one hand, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge ruled Bayern out of the running for Alexis Sanchez and at the same time hinted that a January move away from Arsenal is inevitable as the player has set his mind on one club.
The usual suspect is Manchester City, the manager Pep Guardiola has been sending mixed messages about a January move, he was reported to have ruled out January bid but in his last press conference, he refused to comment on Alexis Sanchez but said he will be looking to improve his squad at any given opportunity and declined to rule out January move for Sanchez, Arsenal manager, on the other hand, is adamant the Chilean is staying at Arsenal.
The SUN reporting that Real Betis Quique Setien is keen to add Jack Wilshere to his squad.
Like Ozil and Sanchez, Jack Wilshere’s contract at Arsenal ends in July 2018, a new contract has not been offered to the English man with Wenger hoping that he can prove his long-term fitness before offering him a new deal.
Wilshere, despite his injury-plagued career, has never been short of suitors both within the Premier League and from other European top leagues.
Wenger is keeping a close eye on Jack Wilshere who he has given a run in the Europa League this season with the player not disappointing and has also shown good fitness, although he missed out on Gareth Southgate England call-up, however his return to form may just be enough to earn him a new contract at the Emirate.
Arsene Wenger speaking about Jack Wilshere:
“Jack’s situation will be decided in December. I want to give him the first six months of the season not to think about that and then see where we go from there.
We need to clear things up before the transfer window arrives. At the moment Jack is a little bit in conflict with Mesut Ozil in the position he plays.
But ideally, we want to keep both of them.”
