Arsenal great and pundit Lee Dixon lays into Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez for the poor professionalism shown by the pair and claimed if it was during his era, the players would take matters into their hands.
Lee Dixon who played for the club between 1988 and 2002, spanning three decades, with 458 appearances for Arsenal insists his former teammates would not be this accommodating of Ozil and Sanchez, given the constant rumours linking the pair away and sometimes, the attitude and body language of the pair.
“We’d have just shown them the door, If you don’t want to play, then go. That’s not changed.
Agents and players manipulate situations – and clubs do, in order to get the best deal for the parties concerned – but in general, if you don’t want to go there, and you don’t want to stay, then you will be ousted from the environment and dressing room pretty quickly.
Players work out whether you want to be there or not, and certainly, fans do when they see your performances on the pitch.”
